Rhenipal

Rhenipal is a blend of Pulverised Fuel Ash (PFA) and other hydraulic binding agents which react with the water present in sewage and industrial sludge. The type of ash available for use is dependent on the constituents of the coal and the combustion process. The other constituents enable Rhenipal products to immobilise harmful substances within the sludge and to kill pathogens. Rhenipal is a dry, cement-like powder in appearance.

The Rhenipal products are:
RHENIPAL A - a PFA blended product which is added to sludge prior to dewatering to improve the performance of belt presses and
centrifuges.
RHENIPAL B - a mixture of PFA, cement and other hydraulic binding agents used for the stabilisation of sludge destined for landfill and construction application.
RHENIPAL C - a mixture of PFA, lime and other hydraulic binding agents used for the stabilisation of sludge destined for agricultural use.

Both Rhenipal B and C can be added to the sludge using pre- or post-stabilisation methods. Rhenipal products are modified according to the client's requirements, sludge technical requirements and the final destination of the treated cake (e.g. agriculture or landfill). Our mission statement is focussing on the protection of our environment. By using the ashes (the by-product of the power generating process) we reduce the burden on our planet and provide a product which turns the residue of the waste water cleansing process into a useful product.
